These volcanic basalt columns are a bit unusual, as they rise out of the beach they bend 90 degrees. At the bend they are the weakest and the columns break apart. The fallen rocks are then scoured white by the waves. Vogurviti, Iceland. Photo © copyright by Scott Fricke.
